My Calendar Art

Elf yourself

End of year memories

My years at Riverdale have been very fun. I have experianced, learnt and improved things by the help of all sorts of incouraging teachers and friends. My personal favourite of all senior activities is Quiddage. I have always enjoyed making things to sell. I'll miss being here when I've left and will always come back to visit.

Burger Fresh reflection

How do you think Burger Fresh went?
I thought it was quite fun squirting sauce onto the burgers and it was cool learning and making spinning tops.

What was my job during Burger Fresh?
My job was to squirt tomato sauce on the burgers. The good thing about it was that it was easy and lots of people wanted it.

Looking back over our inquiry, make a list of the things that you have learnt.
That preparing and making things wasn't as easy as it looked and it takes time to get everything done.

What were the challenges when organizing Burger Fresh?Brainstorming all the things we needed to do and making and creating all the envelopes and logos.

Market Day Recount

The palms of my hands started to sweat while I was trying to think staight. Middle kids started pushing their way towards the long table in front of me. A girl began to slide her way easily across the ingrediants then before I knew it she was saying " Tomatoe sause please". Picking the slippery bottle I squirted a miniature spiral on the bun. Smooth! I hoped it would keep on going like that! The smell of food and drinks filled my lungs and I knew it was going to be a long day.

Snowing

The snow is falling
And I'm rolling in snow
Getting up to make a snowball
Ready to make a good throw.

Searching for my friends
I have a big blast
Squiting through the fog
I have found them at last.

I spin around quickly
Inside off I go
Now I'm all warm
Out of the freezing cold snow.

Using imagination in writing

WALT: include writing steps.
Suddenly I opened my eyes having heard a loud crash through a window. I ullled myself up and checked for damage. Nothing. Down my lift leg I was covered in damp moss and dirt. My arms were pale white like they had been covered with flour. Everything else was fine. But where was I? I squinted around the dark eery room and about ten minutes later I soon realized that I was locked in an old beach house. Tiptoing across the room, I tried to open a door. Locked. I turned and pulled on all the others. There was not a single door I could get through. My cold hungry body groaned. Shivers down my back I tried to fall asleep. Creeping around the room gazing at the strange objects scattered on the hard wood floor. I hadn't been able to sleep that night. I felt something soft with fur. I picked it up. Whatever it was keeped bounceing from side to side excitedly. It was a tiny mouse sitting on my hand. He looked quite happy to be free. On his neck there was a small key. I took it. I et the mouse go but it wouldn't move. I went quietly to a door and the mouse followed. I put the key in. The door opened. I saw light, I heard animals. Once I stepped into the strong wind I felt so great that I didn't notice what was in front of me. A male lion lunged at me. I could feel his breath blowing against my face. His long mane shook out violently at me. I turned to run but realized that he wanted to help me. Feeling nervous, I picked up the mouse and climbed on the lion, he took off. All of a sudden everything was a blur. I yelled for him to stop. Stepping onto the golden sand warm under my feet. There were palm trees behind my back and in front of me was a large ocean spreading as far as I could see. But by now I was starting to dehydrate. I needed to get water, fast. Not long later I was riding on a boat; the last night I made a flag out of leaves and twigs, and that's how the boat came. The boat rocking dangerously I returned home. The next time something like this happened I would know what to do. In this story there was a mouse and a lion. Now they're great friends.

Writing sample

I splashed through the cold water and slippery rocks. The slimy sand washed up in my shoes , soakig them and makig them heay. My excitement was starting to get higher as a rock was being lifted up reealing a group of creatures scattering into hloes. All that was left was sandy, salt water and seaweed. I started looking for another rock to lift up.

Camp Reflection

Best Activity
The greatest time was when we saw the seals. The hardest challenge was climbing rocks, but I learnt that seals are amazing creatures.
Best Game
My best game was Diamond Smugglers because I was Sophia's waiter and alot of people wanted a drink so we had to clean the cups alot along with the jug.
Hardest Challenge
The hardest challenge was climbing Castle Rock because the paths were all uneven and my legs were tired at the start.
Biggest Risk
Climbing the sand dunes was the biggest risk for me. Every time I took a few steps I'd slide down again. The sand was hot underneath my feet.
Funniest/bestest moment
The funniest time was when I watched Mr Mcallem got dumped in the water and getting soaked and sandy all over.
